Fundamentals
Getting Started At F3 Athletics Home of Imperial Beach CrossFit
Our Fundamentals program is dedicated to our newest members. It’s an informational and instructional program designed for anyone trying CrossFit for the first time. We slow down our usual pace to guide you through the basic movements and core stability exercises, get you familiarized with proper mechanics and technique, and get your body primed to join our group classes. Fundamentals is designed to ensure your success; we cover everything from our programming philosophy, proper exercise modifications and scaling and regulating individual intensity. It’s a great way to start your CrossFit journey and to get ramped up for our regular group classes. Because the Fundamentals program is in a small-group format, the coaches have plenty of opportunity to help you work on technique and get to know your unique goals and needs. Our Fundamentals program is four 1 on 1 sessions scheduled with one of our expert trainers.

The backbone of the program is traditional CrossFit workouts, focusing on strength, conditioning, and mobility. These workouts combine gymnastics, weightlifting, and metabolic conditioning in varying degrees and durations to create unparalleled results. From the basic (but all-important) air squat all the way to the very technical muscle up and Olympic lifts, we utilize them all and make it workable for anyone at any level of fitness. We build strength, endurance, agility, technical ability, and general awareness of body and mind by training movements that support functional ability and translate to real life. And of course, there are the aesthetic benefits, too.

Our personal training sessions are the most effective and efficient way to achieve your personal fitness goals, whether you’re just starting out on your fitness journey, or an experienced athlete looking to become a more well-rounded athlete with specialized, individual training. Sign up for our personal training sessions where one of our world-class coaches will work with you to help define your goals, develop a specific program and be your personal guide. Each session is designed just for you with a set of eyes on you at all times to ensure you’re getting value out of every one of those minutes.
Strength
Getting Started At F3 Athletics Home Of Imperial Beach CrossFit
Strength classes aim to improve the classic Olympic lifts, the snatch, and the clean and jerk. Our programming follows set cycles ranging appropriate for beginner to advanced level lifters. Our Olympic Weightlifting classes are great whether you are looking to improve your technique, proficiency, and strength, or wanting to pursue Olympic Weightlifting as a sport. We have also found that the most successful CrossFit athletes have built a strong technical foundation in these 2 lifts.
Yoga (Pier South Location)

Yoga poses are great to strengthen and relax the body, but there’s a lot more to Yoga than that. Derived from the Sankrit word “yuj” which means “to unite or integrate”; yoga is a 5,000+ year old Indian body of knowledge. Yoga is all about harmonizing the body with the mind and breath through the means of various breathing exercises, yoga poses (asanas) and meditation. You can experience all of this with a birds eye view of Imperial Beach, the Pacific Ocean and the Pier.
CrossFit Teens
Getting Started At F3 Athletics Home Of Imperial Beach CrossFit
Our Teens class at Imperial Beach CrossFit program is designed to develop the body awareness and physical capabilities of young athletes. We structure our program to incorporate basic bodyweight movements, conditioning, and basic strength development using functional weightlifting exercises. We incorporate team workouts as well as team building games to help encourage social interactions and a fun environment. We touch on basic nutritional recommendations but focus most of our time on their fitness. Our middle school program is a great way to help prepare youth for the rigorous training of team sports. We also take into consideration that many of our athletes do play other sports. Our programming will push them physically and mentally, but will not break them down. Our class is safe and effective for young adults of all levels and fitness backgrounds.
